Freeware products can be used free of charge for both personal and professional (commercial use). Signal is open source, and the people who know security always insist on open source encryption sotware.Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. (Considering the pressure from various governments, including India, I am confident that Whatsapp already has a backdoor installed.) Signal does the same thing, and it isn't owned by Meta/FaceBook. Take the Whatsapp phone & text encryption which has the market for cell phones, and that is a shame. People should also be aware that closed-source security (especially encryption) software is usually crap. Furthermore, people should know that there are excellent free programs which have no payware equivalent. I don't think there is a payware version. Isn't it amazing how many OS programs there are which are better than (or just as good) as their closed-source, payware counterparts? Take Python. The OS itself, web browsers, LibreOffice, KolourPaint, and development tools all work better than their Windows counterparts, and don't cost a dime. ) I use Windows only for games, and one website which doesn't work with non-windows browsers. I am one of the few people using Linux for everyday work. I'm sure you know at least as much as I do, probably more, about OS software.) Aw hell yes! Open source kicks ass. (X, this reply is more for others as it is for you.
